GPTZero

AI-content detection platform designed to analyze text for signals associated with AI-generated writing.

Our Take

GPTZero is an AI-text detection service intended to estimate whether submitted writing may have been generated or assisted by AI. It can be one prompt for further review when an educator or editor is trying to understand a document's writing process.

AI detection is inherently uncertain and can produce false positives and false negatives, particularly across different writing styles, languages, and edited text. A score does not establish who wrote a passage, whether assistance was permitted, or whether the underlying research is accurate.

Use the result cautiously and in context with drafts, notes, citations, and a fair conversation with the author. Follow institutional policy, protect submitted documents, and never treat a detector score as sole evidence for an academic-integrity allegation.
