jamovi

Free and open statistical spreadsheet designed to make common statistical analyses accessible without requiring extensive coding.

Our Take

jamovi offers menu-driven statistical analysis with a familiar spreadsheet-style data view, covering many common descriptive, inferential, and regression procedures. Its modular design can make it approachable for coursework and research teams that need accessible analysis and clear output without extensive programming.

The software cannot determine whether a test fits your design or whether the data support the conclusion. Incorrect variable types, unexamined assumptions, multiple comparisons, or missing-data decisions can all lead to misleading results even when the output looks straightforward.

Plan the analysis before testing hypotheses, verify variable coding and assumptions, and interpret effect sizes with confidence intervals where appropriate. Keep the project file and record the modules and settings used; for complex or repeated workflows, consider documenting the analysis steps in a reproducible script as well.
